While in Barcelona, you will have the chance to explore your business studies by selecting a morning and an afternoon seminar. Seminar offerings are designed to incorporate the very latest in current business topics and case studies. Spanish language study is also offered as an afternoon seminar and can be combined with a morning business seminar.

Seminar Extras

No matter which morning seminar you choose, your learning experience will be complemented by an integrated workshop in communication and leadership. Business seminars will be enhanced by a diverse offering of weekly guest lectures and on site visits to company headquarters – like FC Barcelona, Desigual and Hewlett-Packard to hear from market experts.

Barcelona Adventures

Every day you will get to participate in opportunities from our eclectic activities calendar, designed by a lifelong resident of the city. From Europe's largest soccer stadium to the Picasso Museum, Barcelona has more than enough to keep even the most ambitious students busy. The evening activity program will introduce students to different aspects of Spanish culture, including food, film, music, theater and politics.

Exploring Spain

Each Saturday and Sunday, we will take trips out of the city to get a proper feel for the region's geography, culture and people. From beaches guarded by imposing castles to mysterious medieval villages, not to mention the country's most popular theme park, we will show you the best of what Catalonia has to offer.

Students live at the Residéncia Universitária Sarriá, the city of Barcelona's most sought-after student residence, located in a safe, elegant Barcelona neighborhood. The residence has been our summer home for 16 years although our state-of-the-art dorm is only three years old. Our on-site team of experienced directors and resident advisors are always on-hand to make sure that you have the most comprehensive and enjoyable residential experience available.

Dormitory Housing

Students are housed in brand new double-rooms, which feature air-conditioning, private bathrooms, fridge and a television. Roommates are selected based on a pre-program housing questionnaire and taking into account age and geographic diversity. Your Resident Advisor (RA) will live on the student hall to create a community, provide support, plan activities and help get the most out of your stay in Barcelona. Summerfuel Senior Staff will also live in residence and are always available to address student questions, concerns and emergencies.

Facilities & Sports Center

Students will have full access to Sarriá's games room, gardens, computer room, student lounge, pool and ping-pong tables, fifty-seat mini-cinema and rooftop pool with a panoramic view of Barcelona.

Students will also enjoy privileged use of the Can Carralleu sports center located next to the dormitory where you can enjoy soccer, tennis, and swimming, or work out in the gym. Summerfuel students simply pick up their summer pass at the front desk.

Residéncia Universitária Sarriá has 24-hour front desk supervision to monitor the entrance, sign in visitors, assist with lost keys and answer questions. Sarriá is a gated community, located in a safe, residential neighborhood in the city of Barcelona.

Breakfast and dinner are served daily at the residence and offer a wide-range of meal options to accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences.
Lunch is not provided to encourage you to explore dining options in and around the university. Our staff and faculty are always ready with recommendations!

Our Partnership with ESADE

The Summerfuel Barcelona curriculum is specifically tailored for Summerfuel students and taught in its entirety by faculty from one of Spain’s top business schools, ESADE. The program has been adapted from the university's undergraduate offerings to offer high school students the unique opportunity to prepare for their academic and professional future and develop a more global understanding.
Students select a morning seminar, which meets Monday – Thursday mornings and an afternoon seminar, which meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday mornings are reserved for company visits. Classes are field-based, where possible, ensuring students get out of the classroom and enhance their immersion and intimate familiarity with Barcelona.

Morning coursework is enhanced by an integrated communications and leadership workshop and afternoon seminars are supplemented by weekly visits with business executives and tours of global brands. Coursework is dynamic and discussion-based. Students receive both a Summerfuel transcript and an ESADE certificate upon successfully completing the course.
