Your Action Plan

You will have the unique opportunity to create a full-fledged service project, focusing on an issue you are passionate about. Summerfuel's experienced and dedicated faculty will take you step by step throughout the process. You will analyze some of the most pressing global concerns and discover how young people from around the world have taken the initiative to address them. You will then create your own Action Plan and master the central concepts of social entrepreneurship:

Creating a Clear Mission: What are you passionate about? Explore the wide range of causes in your local and global communities with your peers from around the world.
Operations & Logistics: Compare the success of various organizations in utilizing local resources. In teams, plan an extracurricular activity at Stanford to gain hands on experience in event planning and execution.
Marketing: Listen to guest speakers discuss how they built awareness for their causes. Learn how to communicate your message using social media and print campaigns.
Finance: Discover strategies for effective fundraising through case study analysis. Create and present budgets for sample global projects and role play interviews for grant committees and donors.
Sustainability: Discuss ways different volunteer groups continue to recruit members and leaders year after year. Workshop a peer's project to develop model strategies, then apply these to your own plan.
