Your Home at Stanford
This summer, you'll live like a Stanford undergraduate student in Governor's Corner Residences. Governor's Corner, or "GovCo," is reserved for Stanford upperclassmen during the academic year. With its outdoor balconies and courtyards and suite-style accommodations, GovCo provides a true Stanford living experience.
Housing: At GovCo, rooms are suite-style, with single rooms clustered around a common space and bathrooms. Your suitemates will be carefully selected using our housing questionnaire. On the first floor of your dorm, you will find laundry facilities and a kitchenette.
Facilities: Most students rent bikes to take advantage of Stanford's beautiful 8,000 acre campus. Bike rentals come complete with locks and helmets for safety. Outside of our residence hall are sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, and plenty of grassy fields for both sports games and hanging out. There are also numerous trails for running and biking.
Dining: You will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at Lakeside Dining, where your meal card will give you access to full buffet-style dining options. You can catch up with friends under palm trees and sunshine on the outdoor patio. You can also head to nearby eateries like Peet's Coffee or the Treehouse at Tresidder Student Union - all Stanford undergraduate favorites.
Security: Governor's Corner features 24 hour security. Keys are required to access both suites and individual bedrooms.
Our Students
Our students at Stanford come from all over the US and over 30 different countries. Our students work hard and play hard, balancing their academics with fun-filled activities and excursions. Most come independently and are eager to meet new people. The friendships developed at Summerfuel are often life-long and, as alumni tell us, often the highlight of the summer experience.
