Tara Savin Scholarship Program
Tara Savin was a creative and dedicated leader with a passion for others. She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University and received a Master’s in Mass Communications from Boston University as well as a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University. Tara loved education, politics and the arts and worked on many entrepreneurial and service projects.
The Tara Savin Scholarship program aims to build on Tara’s hard work by offering one full scholarship to LSC-Yale to a deserving young woman. By attracting intelligent, creative, hard-working, and socially conscious students, we hope that we can produce a generation of leaders with the awareness and passion to build a better future.
The deadline for summer 2012 has passed. Please check back in the fall for information regarding the application process for summer 2013.
Summerfuel Scholars
The Summerfuel Scholar program is aimed at equipping young leaders with the skills to make a difference in their communities and beyond. Each year, Summerfuel identifies high schools from across the country with a reputation of community outreach, leadership, and academic excellence. We work with these schools to provide students a unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills and effectiveness in their communities and beyond through participation in one of our Leaders for Social Change programs at Yale or Stanford.
Our Partners
ASA Summerfuel is committed to providing exciting opportunities to a diverse group of high school students. We are proud to partner with the following organizations to provide scholarships to our programs in the US and abroad, to hard-working and passionate students from across the country.
BCNY
We offer hope for a better future and challenge boys to reach their full potential. Along with encouragement, we provide boys the opportunity to acquire skills to make their goals a reality. For without hope for the future, boys have no reason to strive; but without the skills to achieve their dreams, hope is just an empty promise.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by Jack Kent Cooke to help exceptionally promising students reach their full potential through education. Launched in 2000, the Foundation focuses in particular on students with financial need. The Foundation’s scholarship and direct service programs support the education of approximately 650 remarkable students each year, while our grantmaking allows thousands more to engage in challenging educational experiences.
